Saudi Arabia's King Fahd has died.
The king, who was in his 80's, had been in poor health for some time.
His half-brother, Crown Prince Abdullah, has been named as his successor.
The prince has been running the country's day-to-day affairs since the king suffered a stroke in 1995.
A statement on state television read: 'Prayers for King Fahd bin Abdel Aziz will be held following afternoon prayers tomorrow at the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque.
'Members of the family have pledged allegiance to Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdel Aziz as King over the country.'
