A Bank of Ireland director has claimed that up to 70% of the new accounts opened in some of the group's branches during the past 12 months belonged to migrant workers.
Brendan Nevin, the bank's director of strategy and marketing, was speaking in Dublin.
He also announced that from next month, the group's 287 branches throughout the country will provide key literature to migrant workers in Polish, Russian and Chinese (Mandarin).
