Irish troops are among Nato peacekeepers who are consolidating their positions in Kosovo after an outbreak of violence earlier this week left more than 30 people dead.
Fresh reinforcements arrived in the province overnight, with an extra 2,000 Nato troops expected in total.
The deployment is to prevent further clashes between the majority Albanian population and the Serb minority.
