At least 51 people were killed and 71 were injured when a fire swept through a shopping mall in northeastern China.
Chinese television said the blaze broke out on the second floor of the five-storey Zhongbai Commercial Plaza, in the city of Jilin.
Officials are investigating the cause of the fire, which has been extinguished.
In a separate in incident, a fire in a temple is reported to have killed 39 worshippers and injured four in Haining city, in eastern China.
