Gardaí in Dublin are continuing separate investigations into the deaths of a man and a woman whose bodies were discovered yesterday. The causes of their deaths have not been revealed. The body of the man, believed to have been in his early 40s, was found in a house in the Loreto Road area of Rathfarnham shortly after 3pm yesterday. A technical examination is being carried out at the scene and Gardaí are awaiting the results of a post mortem examination.

Meanwhile Gardaí have said that they are treating as suspicious the death of 27-year-old Mary Whelan whose body was found at the bottom of the stairs in her house at Clonard Street, Balbriggan, early yesterday morning. It is understood a post mortem examination has been carried out but that Gardaí are not releasing the results for operational reasons.
