Sinn Féin's chief negotiator has said that any attempt to rewrite the Belfast Agreement would be a recipe for disaster. Speaking on Morning Ireland, Martin McGuinness said that Sinn Féin had had a very difficult task in selling the Agreement to its supporters all over the island.

Mr. McGuinness said the Hillsborough Declaration had made decommissioning a pre-condition to entry into an executive and Sinn Féin was not in a position to deliver on that.
