Sound Out Sunday 21 March 2021
Tonight we're transported to the Parisian salons so admired by Marcel Proust, made famous in his À la recherche du temps perdu. Featuring music by many of their famous patrons, cellist Steven Isserlis (pictured) and pianist Connie Shih perform works by Hahn, Duparc and Franck. Plus the latest in a series of recording from the Danish String Quartet that explores the relationship of a Bach prelude to quartets by Beethoven and Bartok.
Tonight we preview New Music Dublin 2021, and we'll hear works from some of the artists and composers taking part including Chamber Choir Ireland singing David Fennessy and music by Linda Buckley for soprano and electronics. Plus some highlights from last year's festival including Amanda Feery's Kate Bush-inspired 'It's in the trees, it’s coming', performed by Crash Ensemble.
You can now hear our playlists each week on Spotify, and where possible we'll include all the music featured on the programme.
