Borodin's defining Russian epic, Prince Igor - famous for its Polovtsian Dances, comes to the Met for the first time in nearly 100 years.

Saturday May 26th - Claudio Monteverdi's The Return of Ulysses 

John Fulljames, the Royal Opera's former Associate Director of Opera, directs a new production
of The Return of Ulysses in a collaboration between The Royal Opera and the Roundhouse in
Camden, North London. One of only three surviving operas by Monteverdi, the score is full of
pathos and drama, and is considered to be an early masterpiece of Baroque opera.Roderick
Williams stars in the role of Ulysses, King of Ithaca, and Caitlin Hulcup as his wife Penelope

Saturday June 2nd - Puccini's Madame Butterfly 

On tonight's Opera night cultures clash when a trusting young woman marries an American naval officer stationed in Nagasaki. Puccini’s gut-wrenching music takes the audience on an emotionally charged journey through innocence, betrayal and sacrifice towards a heartbreaking finale. Yves Abel conducts the San Francisco Opera Orchestra and Chorus with Llanna Haroutounian in the leading title, Vincenzo Constanzo is Pinkerton, Zanda Svede is Suzuki, Anthony Clark Evans is Sharpless. (Anthony Clark Evans and Lianna Haroutounian in Madama Butterfly)
