United Airlines have launched a brand new direct route between Shannon Airport and Chicago's O'Hare International Airport next summer.
The five-times-weekly non-stop service between Shannon and its Chicago hub is set to launch between June 7th and August 27th 2013 (westbound), subject to government approval.
The Shannon-Chicago flight, UA67, will depart Shannon daily (except Wednesday and Thursday) at 11:00 a.m., arriving in Chicago at 1:05 p.m. the same day. The return flight, UA66, will depart Chicago daily (except Tuesday and Wednesday) at 6:00 p.m., arriving in Shannon at 7:30 a.m. the following day.
The flights will be operated by Boeing 757-200 aircraft with a total of 169 seats – 16 flat-bed seats in United BusinessFirst® and 153 in United Economy®, including 45 Economy Plus® seats with added legroom and increased personal space.
The new flights are conveniently timed to provide connections beyond Chicago to over 125 destinations across North, Central and South America and the Caribbean. United offers more nonstop service to more points from its Chicago/O’Hare hub than any other carrier.
United operates a daily non-stop service between Dublin and its New York hub, Newark Liberty International Airport, and earlier this year launched a daily non-stop service between Dublin and its Washington, D.C. hub, Dulles International Airport. The airline also operates daily non-stop services from both Shannon and Belfast to New York/Newark.
Nonstop flights from Shannon to Chicago offer passengers the added convenience of customs and immigration preclearance, allowing for more efficient connections or a streamlined arrival process at Chicago O’Hare.
