Arriving in Honda dealerships nationwide from October 21, Honda says the CR-V will offer class-leading fuel economy and CO2 emissions from €31,995.
The CR-V is the latest model to benefit from Honda's 'Earth Dreams Technology', as it is powered by Honda's dynamic 1.6 i-DTEC diesel engine.
The lightest engine of its type in the world, it offers emissions of 119g/km for annual road tax from just €200.
Fuel economy also benefits from the Earth Dreams Technology with Honda's Idle Stop and Eco Assist systems working alongside the new 1.6 i-DTEC engine to produce fuel economy figures of 4.5 litres per 100km - the equivalent of 62.8mpg - and delivering a range in excess of 1280 kilometres from a full tank of diesel.
Honda goes on to say that the class-leading features of the 1.6 i-DTEC engine come in addition to the existing strengths of the Honda CR-V.
A full-size family SUV, it offers ample room inside with up to 1,669 litres of luggage capacity available.
Standard equipment includes dual-zone climate control, 17" alloy wheels, cruise control, one-motion folding rear seats, electric front and rear windows, alarm, USB connectivity and daytime running lights.
Frank Kennedy, Sales Director of Universal Honda Ltd, said: "The New CR-V 1.6 i-DTEC takes us into the core of the Irish family car market.
"We have a full-size SUV offering class-leading interior space, class-leading fuel economy and low emission tax rates so important to Irish buyers.
"With prices starting from €31,995, we expect the CR-V 1.6 i-DTEC to not only appeal to existing owners, but also many conquest buyers when it arrives in Honda dealerships on October 21."
