Peugeot Ireland has announced that the iconic GTi is back.

Designed to appeal to driving enthusiasts and offer a perfect blend of performance and style, the new Peugeot 208 GTi is an exciting addition to the 208 range.

Boasting performance figures of 0-100kph in less than seven seconds, and with a top speed of 230kph, CO2 emissions are quite low at 139g/km.

Available to order in Ireland from this May, the new Peugeot 208 GTi 3-door, 1.6 THP 200bhp model will retail from €27,995 plus dealer delivery-related charges.

Standard specification on the new Peugeot 208 GTi includes: 17" alloys, red painted brake callipers, twin chrome exhaust, body coloured rear spoiler, sports seats with black half leather, rear parking aid and an armrest.

The 208 is already a great success in Ireland since its launch in mid-2012. It is also the current Continental Irish Small Car of the Year 2013 as voted for by the Irish Motoring Writers' Association.

Increasing Peugeot's share of the small car market by over 4% year to date, the Peugeot 208 now represents a strong 7.1% of its segment.

George Harbourne, Peugeot Managing Director, said: "The Peugeot 208 GTi will deliver strong desirability with exhilaration, performance and panache.

"Its arrival will reinforce the huge success the Peugeot brand has had during an exceptional history of hot hatchbacks and rally accolades."
