The cabriolet C-Class requires three things: money, the ability to own a second car in many cases and optimism about the weather. There is a choice of five petrol engines and one diesel. The 220 diesel and the 180 petrol (2.2 and 1.8 litres respectively) are expected to be main sellers but no prices have yet been announced.
The car certainly looks stylish and will come with a good deal of the technology that Mercedes has been featuring recently. Along with roll-over protection (vital in a car like this), collision prevention and a drowsiness alert system are all standard. Reassuringly in the Irish context, the roof can drop or be raised in just under 20 seconds at speeds of up to 50 KPH.
