Deep down, we’re all busybodies at heart – which is why we can’t get enough of looking inside other people’s houses.

Kendall Jenner has fulfilled our voyeuristic wishes by appearing on the cover of Architectural Digest, showing off her elegant LA mansion. From a solid gold bathtub to Tracey Emin’s art on the wall, Jenner certainly doesn’t have your average house.

In recent months it feels like we’ve been seeing a lot more of celebrities’ homes. Like the rest of us, the rich and famous have been spending more time indoors this year – and have been showing off their interiors on social media…

Gigi Hadid

Model Gigi Hadid went viral for revealing the interior of her New York home. She wrote on Instagram: "Spent all of last year designing and curating my passion project / dream spot." Hadid’s taste is definitely in the ‘more is more’ camp, with plenty of bright colours and clashing patterns.

There’s a lot going on, and after she posted the pictures on social media, people immediately had a lot of questions – like, why does she have cupboards full of different types of coloured pasta? And why does she have a bowl of billiard balls in her kitchen?

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend

If you don’t get too distracted by Chrissy Teigen and John Legend’s adorable kids Luna and Miles, you can see quite a lot of their impossibly chic house on Instagram.

With a mustard sofa and the clean lines of a fireplace, there’s a retro feel to the interiors – but it’s still kept modern and fresh with lots of light and a huge kitchen for cookbook author Teigen to cook in.

Kylie Jenner

You’ve got to hand it to the Kardashian-Jenner clan: they definitely know how to make a statement with their homes. While Kendall’s gone for a more rustic, farmhouse vibe, her sister Kylie’s taste couldn’t be more different.

Kylie’s LA mansion is all angular lines and slate grey tones, with a huge pool in the middle and towering walls for privacy. It doesn’t look like the warmest of places, but it’s definitely opulent.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West

A step even further into modernity is Kim Kardashian’s house with Kanye West. The couple had their own spread in Architectural Digest earlier this year and it was striking how white the house is. Everything from the walls to the furniture is a bright white, with absolutely no clutter, making it feel like a futuristic art installation.

You can’t help but think: how do you keep things that pristine with four kids aged seven and under?

Portia de Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres

Portia de Rossi has been posting her often-disastrous attempts at cooking on Instagram, and while it’s a chance to giggle at her mishaps, it’s also a peek into the incredible open kitchen in her home with Ellen DeGeneres.

With doors opening out on to their massive garden (which comes complete with a statue), the kitchen is full of neutral tones and gold and chrome accents.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Jason Statham

The house Rosie Huntington-Whiteley shares with action star husband Jason Statham is basically the interiors version of the model’s fashion sense: sleek, minimal and full of neutral tones.

The Malibu beach house might be minimalist, but that doesn’t mean everything about it isn’t super luxe, with marble walls and a semi-spiral staircase.
