There is definitely a feeling of spring in the air as the weather heats up after the recent storms.
The forecast for the Easter weekend is mainly dry and warm with sunny spells - perfect weather for an Easter egg hunt. If that is your plan, you are spoiled for choice but there is also so many more activities and events available over the next two weeks.
There are also some fun children's camps if you are stuck in the office or just looking for something to keep the little ones busy and entertained.
There are thousands more ideas for things to do on YourDaysOut but below is a selection of our favourites.
We won't get to do them all but we'll have fun trying!
1) National Museums of Ireland
The National Museums have lots of activities scheduled for the Easter holidays.
On Easter Sunday, the National Museum of Country Life in Turlough Park wants to know 'Are you an April Fool?'
Take the April Fool's challenge and explore the Museum's collection with our fun family trail. Can you figure out what is true and what is false?
On Thursday April 5th, you can explore two Museums in one day in the Ancient Egyptian Animal Adventure.
Start at the Museum of Natural History on Merrion Street at 11am and come face to face with the animals of Africa.
Then head over to the Museum of Archaeology on Kildare Street and complete the trail with ancient Egyptian animal gods!
2) Wells House, Wexford
On Easter Saturday, there are Easter Puppet Shows by Red Moon Theatre! Take in the fresh air and enjoy some theatrical fun as our puppets go on an 'egg'citing adventure!
Kids get 'egg'static for their annual Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday while the parents enjoy live music & barbecue on the terrace. On Easter Monday, Electric Zoo are back with some FREE furry fun and a yummy barbecue!
3) Easter at Croke Park
One of Dublin's most popular attractions, the Croke Park Stadium Tour, has an ‘egg’cellent twist for families over the Easter break!
The fantastic ‘eggs’perience will include an access-all-areas guided stadium tour, combined with an Easter Egg Hunt, all rounded off with a visit of the GAA Museum!
4 ) Aquazone at the National Aquatic Centre
Aquazone is open every day over the Easter Holidays. The National Sports Campus also run multi-sport camps over four days from March 26th to March 29th and April 3rd to April 6th. You might be training alongside an Irish Olympian!
5 ) Easter at Westport House, Mayo
Westport House re-open their doors this weekend for what is set to be two weeks of lots of family fun!
The Pirate Adventure Park will open from 11:00am to 18:00pm from the 24th of March to the 8th of April and the House is open every day too. They have also planned their annual egg hunt which promises lots of fun for all the family on Easter Sunday.
6) National Wax Museum Plus, Dublin
The National Wax Museum Plus is an exciting interactive visitor attraction located in the heart of Dublin's city centre in their new location on Westmoreland Street.
It offers a museum experience unlike any other, whether you are young or old, a culture vulture or fun seeker and, over the Easter weekend, children who find all the hidden Easter bunnies can collect a free egg!
7) Easter Camp at Fota Wildlife Park, Cork
The popular camps run from 10 am - 3 pm daily from April 4th-6th with different activities daily ranging from Easter arts and crafts, exclusive guided tours and exploring the springtime woodlands.
8) Epic The Irish Emigration Museum, Dublin
Join in the arts and crafts sessions that take inspiration from the Creating & Design galleries at the museum. The fun workshops lasts for 1 hour and children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times.
Bags of Creativity, for 9-13-year-olds, replicates their designs onto tote bags that they’ll be able to bring home. 'Egg'cellent Little Artists is where 4-8-year-oldss will design some Spring hanging decorations and colourful Easter cards.
Tickets for the workshops are valid for one child admission to our museum and take place on Tuesday 27th, Wednesday 28th, Thursday 29th, Thursday 5th and Friday 6th.
All family tickets over the Easter break also include entry to a fun scavenger hunt! Work together to follow the clues scattered around the museum’s vaults. At the end of the hunt, participants will receive a lovely Easter treat.
9) Clonfert Pef Farm Easter Egg Hunt, Kildare
Clonfert Pet Farm will host their annual Easter egg hunt over the Easter Weekend with lots of fun with the Easter Bunny and all his friends. Normal admission applies with an extra €2 to participate in the hunt and win an egg!
10) Easter Bunny Trail @ Cork City Gaol
Visit Cork City Gaol between Monday, 2nd April and Friday, 6th April for some family fun. Children will be invited to find all the Easter Bunnies throughout the Gaol to win a small prize.
Visitors can continue to enjoy the self-guided tour – either by Guide Book or Audio-Guide. Normal admission rates apply.
11) Tom Duffy's Circus
Following the success of last year's nerve-wracking show, Tom Duffy's circus return this month with shows in Longford, Carrick-on-Shannon and Cavan over Easter.
12) Quality Hotel, Youghal, Cork
With a stunning beach, a swimming pool and leisure centre this is the perfect base to explore the area and tackle the activities on offer.
They are also running a kids camp all over Easter, with egg hunts, movies and discos.
13) Brigit's Garden Easter Egg Hunt, Galway
Celebrate a fun-filled Easter at Brigit's Garden annual family Easter Hunt!
They have two types of hunts; a mini-hunt for the little ones around the four Celtic Gardens and a mighty-hunt for the older children around the nature trail. Meet the Easter Bunny, enjoy games and crafts, and have fun exploring the Celtic Gardens.
The Garden Café will be open all day serving lunch, cakes and drinks.
14) Children FREE at Airfield Estate, Dublin
To celebrate the arrival of the first Irish strawberry, Keelings is inviting kids to Airfield Estate on Easter Sunday and Monday to plant their own strawberry in support of ISPCC Childline.
There will also be a magician and face painter which will help make it fun for all the family. What's more, children are free with a paying adult.
16) Turoe Pet Farm, Galway
Turoe Pet Farm in Loughrea welcomes back the Easter Bunny regardless of the weather this Easter Saturday Sunday & Monday.
There will be lots to do including 'Inflatable City' & Jungle Town Indoors, feeding the animals, playing in outdoor playgrounds and astroturf pitch and the Easter Bunny will be bringing lots of Easter Eggs.
17) Caffrey's Chocolate Warehouse, Dublin
Fancy a real chocolate experience this Easter?
Meet the Easter Bunny and enter his Easter hutch, make your own Easter bow, visit the mini chocolate factory and receive your own personalised egg.
18) Greenan Maze, Wicklow
The farm is open every day over the holidays but you can also hop along over the Easter weekend where the Easter Bunny will host lots of Easter egg hunts on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday. Crack the clues and solve the riddles to get to the middle of the maze, where you will find the Easter Bunny and claim your chocolate reward.
The children can run off some energy while adults find some peace and tranquillity at this pretty countryside farm in the Wicklow hills.
19) Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt, Dublin
Barnardos are delighted to once again partner with the Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt bringing eggcitement and joy to children and families this Easter weekend.
Back for its fifth year the event will take place in Dublin’s Merrion Square on Friday 30th and Saturday 31st March 2018. I hope you already have your tickets as this event books out very quickly.
20) Limerick's Easter Family Festival
Taking place on Thursday and Friday evening in the Milk Market and Saturday morning in the Corcanree Business Park, each day is a 3-hour event with live music, a great line up of entertainers, food trucks, a massive prize draw, Limerick's largest Easter Egg Hunt with over 10,000 eggs & an entertaining Easter show!
21) Pirates Adventure Tramore, Waterford
Set in the Picturesque town of Tramore, Co. Waterford, Pirate’s Adventure offers something for everyone, all under one roof.
There is a fun day on Easter Sunday from 2pm - 4pm with extra activities including Easter Egg Hunt, Face Painting, meet Else, Spiderman and the Minnions and more included in your admission price.
22) Midir and Etain in Wonderland, Longford
Creative Ardagh is the perfect venue for Arty Parties, Group Art & Crafts sessions for all from toddler to adult. They also run lots of seasonal events including a popular Easter egg hunt, Midir and Etain in Wonderland, on Easter Monday 2nd April at 3pm.

23) Drogheda Leisure Park, Louth

24) Easter Camp at The Dome, Carlow
The DOME Family Entertainment Centre is Carlow's only bowling venue, children’s play centre, games arcade and kids party venue rolled into one
. They have arranged supervised fun including Arts & Crafts, Congo Quest and bowling on Thursday 29th & Friday 30th and Thursday 5th April & Friday 6th from 11am - 3pm.
They also have an Easter Egg hunts on Easter Sunday with games, balloon animals and face painting.
25) Luggwood Easter Egg Hunt, Dublin
Famous for it's magical Christmas journey, the Luggwoods Enchanted Forest is a family experience set in the ancient Lugg Forest at the foothills of the Dublin Mountains.
Take a trip on the Easter Bunny’s tractor-drawn carriage, 'The Luggwoods Express', for an interactive journey through the Enchanted Forest before meeting the Easter Bunny in the Big Red Barn for some stories, arts & crafts and chocolate eggs!
26) Easter Adventure at Bunratty Castle & Folk Park, Clare
Bunratty Castle and Folk Park promises to be a hive of activity and excitement on Bank Holiday Monday from 12-5pm.
With activities for all ages this year they have a fantastic line up of events including Hilarious Wobbly Circus Show, Mr. Boom and his Drum and Percussion Show, a 52-foot Crocodile with an obstacle course, magic shows, face painting, Disney and Fairytale characters, train rides on the Easter Express and lots more.
27) Mysterious Easter Hunt, Cork
The Easter bunnies have broken into their egg store and stolen the eggs at the Toy Soldier Factory in Macroom. They need help on Thursday 29th and Friday 30th to capture the culprits.
To be part of this forensic team you must first Make & Paint your own bunny so they can join you in solving the case. Find the thief and win an egg.
28) Secret Garden Trail, Roscommon
Celebrate Easter with us in the idyllic setting of Strokestown Park House walled gardens at 1pm on Easter Sunday, 1st April. Families will search through the clues in the nooks and crannies of the garden to receive the chocolate egg treasure.
There is also a Custard Pie Puppet Show and a visit the spring lambs before catching the parade the village at 3pm.
29) Kia Ora Farm Mini Farm, Wexford
The popular farm outside Gorey is open every day over the holidays but will has some Easter Madness planned for the weekend.
Meet the Easter Bunny, Fireman Sam and the Minion; join in the Wacky Races such as sack races, bean bag, backward races and even feed the lambs. There will also be Balloon Blaster, free glitter tattoos and a colouring competition.
All the extra activities are included in the admission price.
30) Easter Family Fun Weekend, Meath
A weekend of fun returns to the Irish Military War Museum with Superbounce from Friday 30th of March - Monday 2nd of April
Each three-hour long session includes a treasure hunt, Easter Egg for every child, admission to Bouncy Castle Park (which has the largest obstacle course in the country), admission into the Play & Create Room with LEGO BRICKX, Arts & Crafts and lots more. Booking in advance is required for children but adults go free.
31) Imaginosity, Harry Potter Easter Camp, Dublin
Imaginosity, Dublin's Children's Museum also run Easter camps for 4 to 6- and 7 to 9-year-olds. The second week camp from April 2nd to 6th will be especially popular with Harry Potter, Hermione and Ron Weasley's fans as it's a Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry Camp.
This magical wizarding week will be jam-packed with Harry Potter themed games, challenges, arts & crafts, wand making and potion classes.

33) Glasnevin Cemetery Mid-Term Tales, Dublin

34) Tír Na nÓg Children's Festival, Kerry
The annual Eastertime festival in Tralee offers family friendly events including fancy dress run, egg hunts, puppet shows, tea parties and more.
All proceeds from this years Tea Party will go to The Cashel Children’s Ward at University Hospital Kerry.
35) Rathwood Easter Train, Wicklow
The Chocolate Egg making machine has broken down and the Easter Bunny needs the help of all the boys and girls to get it working again.

36) Playcentre Kingscourt Fundraiser, Cavan
The popular Playcentre in Kingscourt, Cavan is hosting a family fun day fundraiser in memory of Niamh Crosby on Saturday.
