Operation Transformation is set to return to RTÉ One on Tuesday, January 9th. We spoke to Dr Ciara Kelly about how this show will differ from the most recent series of Celebrity Operation Transformation.
On this year's season of Celeb OT; X Factor singer Mary Byrne, beauty expert Triona McCarthy, chef Gary O'Hanlon, social media influencer James Patrice and singer Kayleigh Cullinan collectively lost an incredible 5 stone 5.5 lbs in weight.
Now, we are counting down to January 9th when we will meet our 2018 leaders who will work on their own weight loss while also inspiring the nation to get fit.
We asked Dr. Ciara Kelly about filming both of the series to find out where the differences lie.
"I suppose there is a difference between working on Celebrity Operation Transformation show and the regular and Operation Transformation show.
"The chief difference is that, for a start, we would know some of the celebrities because we might work in the same building as them," explained Dr. Ciara.
"That creates a more peer-like relationship and that means that we can actually maybe give them the unsweetened version of what we want to say, and that's fair enough because [...] celebrities would be slightly less vulnerable than our regular leaders who would often come from a difficult place."
"It's not always about results.
"If you do make the effort and you don't see the results, we will help you and we will support you but if you don't make the effort, that changes things. All bets are off at that stage."
Watch brand new Operation Transformation on RTÉ One every Tuesday and Wednesday at 8:30pm or catch up on RTÉ Player.
