Storm Ophelia has come and gone but one thing is for certain - we can always rely on the Irish public to entertain, in 140 characters or less.
As people were stuck indoors, RTÉ News and other key media kept us all informed on the updates, warnings, dangers and tragedies that unfolded throughout the day.
On a lighter note, many people chose to while away the hours and keep nerves calm by posting and sharing on social - here are some of the gems we found.
Sibh Wards: "Hurricane prep - charge your phones, power outage likely. Irish people - drain batteries laughing at hilarious hurricane memes #Ophelia"

Don't Make Unnecessary Journeys
Teresa Mannion was hailed a hero as the storm gained momentum yesterday afternoon. The RTÉ reporter gained fame for her viral report on Storm Desmond in 2015 and the internet has not forgotten.

Spell Check
It was announced that all schools and colleges would remain closed during the storm. However, some questioned that decision as both #Ophelia and #Opehlia began trending on Twitter.
Thomas Duffy: "Probably no harm the Dept of Education is trending. They can do a special spelling class for #Ophelia"

Roving Reporting
Everyone from Joe to Bryan Dobson did an excellent job reporting on Storm Ophelia yesterday. However, there was no way for the reporters to capture every dramatic moment. Luckily, smart phone users were at the ready to capture the events of the day.

Zombie Apocalypse
Many noted that the quiet streets of Ireland were like that out of a zombie apocalypse movie. And as it turns out, we as a people are not prepared for a dystopian society.
