Speaking about the latest episode of Liveline: Call Back Joe Duffy told us that it focuses on "one of the most jaw-dropping Livelines" he's ever presented.

When we asked him why he thinks the series is so popular, he said people are mesmerized by seeing  the face of the people they heard on the programme, to see where they live, what they look like, their families or whatever but also, what happened next.

Speaking about the latest episode, he said: "Samantha Long’s one was one of the most jaw dropping Livelines I’ve ever presented.

Joe added: "We got a phone call from a woman in America who listens online."

"She contacted us and said: 'I’ve just discovered that a friend of mine, she was in the Magdalene Laundry as I was,' the caller said, 'called Margaret Bollen, died about six weeks ago and has been buried in a communal grave in Glasnevin.'

"And she said: 'Margaret deserves an individual grave.' It was as dignified and as gentle as that."

Then, Joe got another surprising and emotional phone call: "And then we got this phone call from this woman called Samantha Long who says: 'My mother is Margaret Bollen! I did not know she was dead!'"

"And we got another phone call from New York, and this woman says: 'My name is Edith and Margaret Bollen is my mother, and I did not know she was dead' and that was the beginning of that incredible episode.

"Samantha became this incredible campaigner, not just for her mother but for all those women who got through that system."

For Joe Duffy it is "a privilege to be a presenter":

Liveline is a national and interactive conversation.

The New Joe: How he lost weight and got fit
Joe started training with Kieran Keenan from Fitsquad: "Kieran said to me: 'Come to the gym every evening after 'Liveline', you're here for forty minutes and you could get much more benefit out of it.

"The regime he put me through is not easy but I’ll do it as long as I can."

And here's a message for Kieran for when he's reading this: "It's non-stop and I am gagging for the heal of a batch loved toast laddered in butter with a bit of jam or marmalade!

Please, I beg you Kieran, release me from this regime! I’ve suffered enough!
