First things first. The Main Stage just got a lot bigger!

A bigger main stage can mean only one thing: a better chance to catch headliners Chemical Brothers, Lana Del Ray and LCD Sound System in all their glory.

Director Melvin Benn explains how the main stage for EP is one of many changes to expect this weekend.

Speaking of stages....Music!

EP is renown for having a fantastic lineup of music. There's a tune for everyone at the many stages across the plain. And this year promises to be quite stellar in terms of taste, variety and quality. The Booka Brass band were on stage while we walked about (and honestly an act not to be missed!) We caught up with the lads ahead of performing for Picnickers!

The return of The Theatre of Food!

A festival wouldn't be complete without even more scrumptious food! The Theatre of Food returns for the sixth year to EP! With a brand new stage, workshops and cooking demonstrations, top chefs and a worldwide variety of food, there is no excuse to go hungry this weekend!

Read our Top 5 Theatre of Food picks here, including Roz Purcell and Katie Sanderson!

Roz Purcell will be cooking up a storm at EP!

The Hazel Wood! (A festival in itself)

Set in the beautiful forest of Stradbally, the Hazel Wood is an interactive theatre space new to Electric Picnic. Designed specifically for festival goers, performances are set to around 30 minutes. And with workshops on offer, along with perofmrances taking place on and off stage, Picnickers should come with their Shakespearean A Game to give a truly worthy performance.

We caught up with curator Sorcha O'Neill and Anton Cullen, the people behind transforming the woodlands into a magical theatre space.

Make a splash at Electric Picnic! The Lake is now open!

Electricity and water never seemed like a good mix...but for the first time in EP history, The Lake is open to the public! Picnic lifeguards will be on duty to watch out for everyone’s safety. And kids can make a splash too when accompanied by a responsible adult who can swim!

Bound to be a highlight for many, remember to pack the swimsuit and floaties!

Speaking of packing...Remember to check our guide on what to bring ahead of EP here.

Get ready to make a splash at EP!

Visit the maze of your own mind...Cerebral Fortress!

There are lots of rooms to enter...some familiar, some terrifying, and some relaxing (phew!) We joined 'Subconscious' as he took us on a preview trip, on what promises to be a very mindful experience.

Vicky White and daughter Inca were on hand to explain how the Fortress came about along with top tips for bringing kids to Electric Pcinic this weekend!

Ali's UFO

Never before seen in the woods, Ali's UFO will give Picnickers an out-of-this-world experience! With special effects, dance beats and extra-terrestrial visuals, this intergalactic music invasion is by all accounts very welcomed in the woodlands.

Rabo Direct...Tour De Picnic!

Rabo Direct Tour De Picnic

The folks behind the RaboDirect Tour de Picnic have been gearing up for the 8th annual instalment of the charity cycle and run to Ireland’s biggest and best music and arts festival.

Get involved in the hard work at EP with lots of fun races and contests on site, including slow-bike races, wheelbarrow races and more!

And to show you how not to win (and how terribly difficult it all is!)...revisit the incredibly embarrassing moment when I let RTÉ LifeStyle down in the Slow-Bike race this week. Again...sorry guys!

And remember to get the whole Picnic on your Smart Phone!

There's going to be thousands of people. Lots to see, lots to do, and tonnes of music to listen to.
