Neven's Food from the Sun

Neven's Food from the Sun

"Neven's Food From The Sun" is a new 13-part series from the talented Cavan chef. Shot on location in Mallorca, and in Neven's own kitchen in Cavan, the series will bring a much-needed touch of sunshine into our lives.

Inspired by the authentic tastes and new flavours experienced when on holiday, Neven shows us how to recreate a range of wonderful recipes and bring a little sunshine into our own kitchens.

In each programme Neven focuses on a particular ingredient or type of ingredients and takes us through various recipes from different countries. From fish, lamb, fruit, olive oil and vegetables to tapas, mezes and desserts. Each programme and each recipe is introduced from a location which is relevant to the food being cooked.

Corrigan's City Farm

Corrigan's City Farm

Richard Corrigan is a man on a mission - he is determined that everybody should have a slice of the good life. Richard has set himself an enormous challenge. He wants to prove that it's possible to set up a farm on waste land in a city location and train an army of volunteers to run it.

Richard has found 24 willing volunteers and given them a plot of land in the heart of the city. The novice gardeners will be getting back to basics, growing fresh, seasonal food while fighting everything from drought to greenflies.

Can our inner city volunteers rise to the challenge and transform a plot of derelict wasteland into a lush and fertile smallholding? Can Richard start a national allotment revolution?

Take on the Takeaway

Take on the Takeaway

Each week on Take on the Takeaway, a well known chef will visit the home of a member of the public who is a self-professed fan of their local takeaway. The celebrity chef will then be challenged to reproduce the most popular take-out meals in a domestic kitchen.

In a head-to-head race against the clock with the staff of the local takeaway our challenger must cook and serve their dish in the time it takes the takeaway to cook and deliver theirs. Both dishes are then blind tasted by the takeaway fan and each dish is awarded marks out of 10 for taste.

The celebrity chef must also shop for the ingredients for the dish, ensuring the cost remains less than that of the takeaway equivalent.

Corrigan Cooks Naturally

Richard Corrigan is on a mission. Last year he brought his city farm to Cork and encouraged everyone to eat well and grow their own food. Now he's determined to spread the good word around the rest of Ireland and so he's launching his new campaign to encourage everyone to Taste Local.

He's set up his own Corrigan Cooks Naturally Roadshow and he's bringing it all around the country. But this time, he's recruited a few expert friends to give him a hand. On the campaign tour with him is medical herbalist Vivienne Campbell who can show you how plants and flowers can make remedies and even natural beauty products. Also joining Richard is horticulturalist Kitty Scully who wants us all to reconnect with our food heritage and celebrate the community gardens that are popping up all over the country.
