The hotel has introduced a very novel idea - a Late Afternoon Tea - so guest can enjoy their tiny cakes and savoury snacks later in the day.
The Late Afternoon Tea is served from 3 - 7pm, seven days a week, for a cost of €25 per person.
I tried out the concept last Friday with my two sisters and found it the most relaxing way to kick off the weekend.
We started by choosing from the excellent list of teas on the menu, which were each served in individual teapots.
A tray of savoury and sweet delights was delivered to our table with the piping hot tea, and we dug in immediately.
The savoury bites were amazing - gorgeous truffle arancinis (basically fried risotto balls) were the highlight for me, which were devoured alongside smoked cheddar and chive gruyere's, a tomato cone with beef, egg and watercress and an amazing bowl of beetroot jelly, smoked salmon, goat's cheese and fennel.
On to the main event - the mini cakes and sweet treats. The miniature scone with clotted cream and jam was delightfully moist and light and paved the way for the more indulgent bites - a lemon financier with cream, macaroons, rose water truffles and the best part - a coconut and white chocolate truffle.
To top it all off - the Late Afternoon tea concludes with your choice of a cocktail - a Long Island Iced Tea or an Espresso Martini. We all decided to go for the Espresso Martini, which was the perfect end to a really amazing eating experience.
