A Dublin restaurant has been nominated for an award for the Best Luxury Steakhouse in the World, adding yet another boost to Dublin's exciting food scene.
Already a go-to spot for that special dinner or event, FIRE Steakhouse & Bar, located in the grand setting of The Mansion House on Dawson Street, has been tapped by the World Luxury Restaurant Awards for the award.
Founded in 2015, the World Luxury Restaurant Awards celebrate – you guessed it – luxury dining experiences around the world. The restaurants, split into specific categories, are voted on by over 100,000 guests, travellers and industry players during a four-week period.
A mainstay on the Dublin dining scene, FIRE has bewitched diners for years with its flawlessly prepared steaks, grilled over open flames and served simply to showcase the meat's quality. They're just as well known for their stunning fish dishes, from oysters to delicate smoked salmon dishes.
Of course, luxury comes from more than just the food, and ambiance is a major wow factor at FIRE.
Originally built in 1864 as the Lord Mayor's 'Supper Room’, its dining room is dramatic and unforgettable, draped with dark curtains and hemmed in with exposed brick walls.
Stained glass windows and high vaulted ceilings lend an air of grandeur, so it's no wonder so many people pop the question here! Standing tall over neat dark tables are the striking red tree sculptures that make the room truly unique.
Then, of course, there is the glass-fronted terrace that overlooks the charming garden below, that at night is illuminated by the decorative fire pit and glowing lights.
The nomination comes at a particularly meaningful time for the luxurious restaurant as they celebrate 15 years in business. With the restaurant industry struggling under the weight of the Covid-19 pandemic, any accolade is a welcome boost to employers and businesses.
Other categories for restaurants include everything from Mediterranean Cuisine Award and Contemporary Cuisine, to Luxury Hotel Restaurant and Luxury Resort Restaurant. a cursory glance at the nominees on their website shows just how seriously they take "luxury".
Gaudi-inspired dining rooms, a table overlooking an Indonesian jungle and an oceanfront seafood spot are just some of the places vying for awards.
