Brendan Courtney and Sonya Lennon have launched

FrockAdvisor is a social commerce platform which will connect communities with an avid interest in fashion.

It is available on mobile and tablet, iPhone and Android, and offers an enhanced experience for consumers and visibility for retailers through integrated content and a 'buy it now' function.

Fashion stylist and presenter Lennon said: "We first came up with the concept of FrockAdvisor when we wrote our two books; in the back of both, we catalogued the fashion retail landscape in Ireland.

"We noticed that only 19% percent of independent retailers were online and therefore simply not on the digital shopping list. Yet, they had loyal customers helping them to survive. We thought, why not find a way to bring these existing communities online, and help retailers to reach a new audience in an easy, cost effective and engaging way? For that audience, we created our search function.

"You see something you like, you post it and your retail community tell you what they have that’s the same or similar. And, if you can’t find a visual, tell them in text what you want - those purple shoes, that dress with sleeves, and they’ll post you back pictures of a match. In the centre of FrockAdvisor there is fashion content channel in your hand, covering everything that falls under our ‘Six Style Senses’ – fashion, hair, make-up, wellbeing, jewellery and scent.

Adding to this, Courtney said: "The interest in FrockAdvisor from retailers to date has been exceptional and not just in Ireland – we’ve had high levels of interest from the UK, Italy and Australia. Frockadvisor addresses a global problem and we’ve created a global solution."
