Supermodel Kate Moss is set to feature in Playboy magazine's 60th anniversary edition.

Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, Playboy's editorial director, Jimy Jellinek said: "This is a massive global brand. You need a global icon in order to celebrate that — that was the impetus."

He added: "You’re talking about the face of Burberry, the biggest supermodel in the world on the cover of Playboy. She’s the perfect partner for us to help launch the next 60 years."

Playboy founder, Hugh Heffener is also excited about Moss' cover. In an interview with The LA Times he said: "She’s a worldwide celebrity and iconic and crosses the boundaries from sexual imagery to upscale modelling. It's natural for us".

Moss' Playboy cover shoot was photographed by Mert Atlas and Marcus Pigott and the model decided to stick with the classic Playboy Bunny look and don velveteen bunny ears, silk stockings and French cuffs.

Moss' cover will be part of the magazines January/February edition which perfectly coincides with her 40th birthday on the 16th of January.

Over the years Playboy have photographed a number of super models including Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Eva Herziogva and Claudia Shiffer.
