Benefit's new Big Easy complexion perfector is billed as 'Bigger than BB', but does it live up to the claim?

Yes is the answer to the question. Beauty Balms have flooded the market the past few years, but they rarely live up to their claims, and often don't provide enough coverage.

The Big Easy targets a good few skin concerns, and crucially, leaves skin looking perfected but natural.

I find myself reaching for this daily, as it has a lightweight, natural finish and is really simple to apply using fingertips.

The formulation is lovely - a creamy liquid that dries to a velvety finish. It contains ingredients to balance the moisture in your skin, and control oil, which is great for my combination skin.

Coverage is light but buildable, it perfects uneven skintones easily but won't cover blemishes, I dot extra concealer over problem areas after I have applied the Big Easy.

As an added bonus, there's a broad spectrum SPF 35 in the mix to protect skin. There will be six shades available, from Fair to Deep Beige. I have pale skin and was matched to shade 02 - Light - so this should cater to light Irish skintypes.

Available from Benefit counters nationwide from April, €37.
