From their stunning and feminine lingerie to their equally beautifully nightwear, Agent Provocateur oozes luxury and their Pétale Noir perfume fits in perfectly with the elegance and sophistication the brand have become so well known for.

Described as a “a deep floral scent with a hint of Oriental Mystique” the perfume features floral notes such as magnolia, waterlily, flower stems, violet leaves, cassie flower, iris, lily of the valley, osmanthus, rose, Turkish rose and Ylang Ylang.

On the first spray, these sweet floral scents are immediately picked up but far from being a light summery fragrance, the floral notes are immediately toughened up by darker notes such as ceaderwood, leather, sandalwood, musk, patchouli, vetiver, oakmoss, amber, cistus labdanum, benzoin and tobacco leaves. The combination of strong masculine scents and pretty feminine ones is what allows this perfume’s dainty yet rough fragrance to stand out.

As well as its alluring scent, this perfume also has fantastic staying power, lasting a good 8 hours on a hot and sticky summer’s day. However, the heady masculine notes do fade slightly over time leaving a much lighter fragrance.

In terms of packaging, Pétale Noir's bottle perfectly encapsulates its sensual personality. The curvy glass bottle is decorated with delicate etchings of flowers with gold thorns and in a contrast to the pretty bottle, a black chain hangs from the top, hinting that this perfume has got a dark side.

Pétale Noir, just like Agent Provocateur’s lingerie, makes you feel a little bit naughty. It is a scent reminiscent of a much more glamorous era and invokes images of a beautiful femme fatale in a 1940s film noir. Like her, this scent is both charming and seductive with just the right hint of danger.
