With the weather finally changing, we're back to finding ways of looking chic and keeping warm or cool in all types of weather. It's a challenge that doesn't get easier with each new year, but there's plenty of inspiration to be found in Kate Middleton's look book.
Kate is a pro when it comes to layering outfits, with long coats, blouses and boots just some of her spring to summer staples. In her latest engagement with her husband Prince William, the Duchess of Cambridge looked stunning in another chic and elegant ensemble.
Middleton has long favoured retro silhouettes, and her latest one was 70's perfection as she and William visited a number of youth centres to mark Mental Health Awareness Week.
The couple got stuck into group activities with the children they met, with Kate wasting no time getting to grips with archery and the pair giggling as they potted plants. They also showed their competitive side as they took each other on in a game of table tennis.
But it was Kate's outfit we were focusing on, as she chose a classic navy look for the day. Always one for stunning coats, Kate chose a longline navy coat by Catherine Walker, one of her go-to designers. Featuring large lapels, princess seams and structured shoulders, it was a striking look and a modern take on the classic 70's silhouette.
She added a navy and white polka dot blouse by Tory Burch, the Scalloped Edge Silk Shirt. With a contrasting white scalloped-edged collar and matching cuffs, the blouse was just enough of a statement.
Adding to the 70's look, Kate paired this with her High Waisted Trousers by Jigsaw in navy, the wide legged shape flattering Kate's willowy frame and enhancing her sophisticated look. Paired with her navy Emmy 'Josie' pumps, she looked both elegant and feminine.
Kate accessorised with her Smythson Panama Purse in a understated navy leather, and added a touch of glamour with the Mini Hoops with Detachable Pearls by Freya Rose London, featuring a gold hoop earring accented by five mini freshwater pearls. She finished her look with the Maya Torque Aquamarine & Gold Bangle by Halcyon Days.
As for beauty, Kate wore her long hair blow dried straight, and her makeup was kept simple and tonal, with a subtly dramatic eye.
