Jen Connell will be trying all the best treatments and reporting back to let you know what's worth investing in on your big day. From facials and body wraps to everything in between.

You might love natural skin or a bronzed glow, subtle makeup or ALL the glamour. Either way, Jen has you covered.

First things first, I'm extremely hard to please when it comes to makeup. I trained as a makeup artist when I worked for MAC many years ago so I rarely get my makeup done. Nonetheless, I was excited to try the Charlotte Tilbury Transformation at Brown Thomas. I love the brand ethos of creating red carpet skincare and makeup that's easy to choose, use and gift.

Having already tried a couple of Charlotte's products, I was already impressed with the quality of the ingredients and finishes. I love seeing her celebrity transformations on Instagram in particular, so was looking forward to a transformation of my own.

The lady herself

The transformation
My makeup artist on the day was Amberr, lead artist at the Brown Thomas, Grafton Street store. It always helps when the artist has her makeup flawlessly applied, which she did!

I asked for a glamorous but soft bridal look and Amberr definitely delivered. She started by prepping the skin with Magic Cream, Magic Eye Rescue and Wonderglow Primer. Dark circles and blemishes were cleverly disguised by Magic Away Concealer and Magic Foundation, leaving a healthy glow to the skin.

She then expertly sculpted my face with the Hollywood Contour Wand which she informed me creates a more natural looking contour than powder as it's sheerer. Colour was then buffed across my cheeks with the Face Palette in Lightgasm.

I particularly liked the soft eye look created with the Eyes to Mesmerise paint pot in Rose Gold and Luxury Palette in Pillow Talk. My eyes were defined with Rock 'N' Kohl in Bedroom Black and Legendary Lashes mascara in Black Vinyl. Brows were brushed up and filled in with Brow Lift in Brooke S.

I've often looked for a natural nude colour that doesn't wash me out and found the Pillow Talk lip liner and Superstars Lipstick in Pillow Talk that Amberr used were just that!

The verdict
I loved the softness of the makeup look but still felt glamorous and glowing. This would be a perfect look for a bride, pretty and glowing from within. My favourite products were the lipstick and face palette.

I was fortunately gifted some of the products, but was so impressed that I ended up buying many more the following week. I'm officially converted.
