First up is the Iris Extract Activating Treatment Essence (€40). But what the heck is it? This is a really innovative liquid concentrate that you apply after cleansing to prime your skin for your skincare regime.
Just a few drops of this silky liquid are needed to pat onto cleansed skin and it is quickly absorbed to boost the radiance of the skin and leave it perfectly prepped for the rest of your products. It's formulated with anti-ageing ingredients such as Iris Florentina Root Extract which nourishes skin and Lipo Hydroxy Acid which helps remove dead skin cells. My skin feels instantly soothed and looks dewy after using it.
After applying the Treatment Essence, I've been turning to the Daily Reviving Concentrate (€42.50), a brand new facial oil which has been specifically formulated for daytime use. I was already a huge fan of their classic Midnight Recovery Concentrate, which is incredible for boosting hydration and soothing the skin overnight. The Daily Reviving Concentrate has been formulated to fight the daily environmental aggressors which leave skin looking dull and fatigued.
The first thing I noticed about the oil is the amazing scent - it's made from an awakening mix of ginger root, sunflower and tamanu oils and has a citrus scent - so it's really zingy which is perfect for morning use. Like the Midnight Recovery, it's super lightweight and absorbs into the skin quickly, leaving it with a smooth base.
Those with oily skin might not get on as well with the oil as dry skin, but I've found this works really well with my combination skin and doesn't get greasy in my T-zone during the day. I've been using it at night too as I'm pretty addicted to the gorgeous scent already, it feels like a treat for the senses.
As a final step after my moisturiser, I've been loving the Kiehl's Activated Sun Protector for Face (€32), which has SPF50. After having a skin scan a few years ago and realising the amount of sun damage I have on my forehead in particular, I've become much more fastidious about applying sunscreen daily, and not just in the summer months. The new Activated Sun Protector is oil-free, paraben-free and lightweight so it's fantastic for use during the day as it works really well under makeup, while providing excellent protection frmo UVA and UVB rays.
The Iris Extract Activating Treatment Essence (€40) and Activated Sun Protector for Face (€32) are available at Kiehl's now while the Daily Reviving Concentrate (€42.50) will be available from August 24.
Kiehl’s is available at 35 Wicklow Street; Dundrum Town Centre and Arnotts Department Store.
