Speaking to Women’s Wear Daily, CEO of Oscar de la Renta, Alex Bolen said: “As we have said before, we are deeply impressed with John's talent and would love to find a way to work with him in the future. To date, we have not found that way”
In January, de la Renta invited Galliano to work on his collection for New York Fashion week during a three week residency. Galliano’s influences were clear to see in the collection which was largely well received by critics.
Working for de la Renta was Galliano’s first job since he was famously fired from Dior in 2011 for making anti-Semitic remarks.
Speaking about working with Galliano, 81-year-old de la Renta said: “We all loved having John here in the studio and would like to find a way of having him here more often.”
Although nothing has been confirmed yet, we’re pretty excited by the thoughts of these two world class designers creating more stunningly beautiful collections together.
