We had high hopes for the Lavin designer's collaboration with the beauty brand, which has, if anything, exceeded all expectations.

The packaging is attention grabbing in all the right ways - fun and quirky without being overly girly, featuring scribbled drawings of stars, love hearts, eyes and polka dots.

Alber has reinvented four of Lancome's bestselling mascaras, the Hypnose eye palettes and Hypnose Mono eyeshadows, as well as creating highly covetable false lashes.

Hypnose, Hypnose Doll Eyes, Hynose Star, and my personal favourite, Hypnose Drama, (€28) have all been created in a new 'extra black' shade.

There are three colourways of the Hypnose eye palette (€49), each of which contain five shades of shimmery, blendable shadows, while the Mono shadows are available for €25.

You can finish off the look with a pair of false lashes, a first for the brand, which retail at €32.

The Lancôme Alber Elbaz collection will be available from select Lancôme counters from July 1 2013. We predict this is going to be a sell-out, so get there quick if you want to sample the range!
