While there has been no official announcement, friends and fans of Lily Allen have taken to Twitter to congratulate the singer and designer on giving birth to her first child.
Coronation Street star Charlie Condou commented on the news on Twitter by saying: "She has indeed, a little girl."
While Allen is a regular Twitter user, she has not posted any updates on the birth, but did write: "Totes amaze" yesterday.
Presenter and actress Amanda Holden, who is expecting, wrote on Twitter: "Massive congrats to lily and Sam! Such good news. Xxxx."
BBC Radio 1 DJ Edith Bowman wrote: "MASSIVE congrats to @MrsLRCooper and family on the arrival of their little girl. So much happiness and love going their way. Xxx."
BBC cricket correspondent Jonathan Agnew tweeted: "Many congrats to @MrsLRCooper and Sam on birth of their first child. Lovely news to wake up to."
Singer Myleene Klass also tweeted "congrats".
Allen, who married husband Sam Cooper in the summer, lost a baby six months into a pregnancy in 2010 and also suffered a miscarriage in 2008.
