The eternally ladylike Carey Mulligan wore a showstopper of a dress at the 2011 Palm Spring Awards.
The actress donned a fabulous textured Prada gown in an aubergine shade - which fits in with her grown-up style perfectly.
Small capped sleeves, a boat neck, cinched in waist and slightly flared skirt give the dress a very 50s look, which is in keeping with the 'Mad Men' craze enveloping fashion at the moment.
She styled her growing out crop into sweet flicks and a side parting, while her smokey make-up emphasises her doe eyes.
