This is a newly created database of the €65 million that was paid in pensions and lump sums to former politicians in the four years between 2011 and 2014. You can search by name and political party and see exactly what was paid to every person in each of the years.

It is based on official figures provided by the Houses of the Oireachtas and the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform. In a small number of cases, former politicians may have opted to ‘gift’ some of their money back to the State. However, the figures do not always include this as it is considered a private decision and is therefore not released under Freedom of Information legislation.
