This week in Summer Bay, Dex and April break up, while Celia prompts Heath to propose to a shocked Bianca.
Dex lashes out at April over her lack of belief in him. Irene doesn’t understand April’s backflip – she was the one pushing him back to uni. Dex tells Sid he wants to be normal, but Sid thinks Dex has more control over his life now than he’s ever had. Ultimately his success comes down to Dex and not April. April and Dex argue and it seems they don’t view his progress the same way.
Meanwhile, Jett is still pretending to be sick to get out of school. John and Gina give him an ultimatum: specialist or school. Jett chooses school. Jett is wary of Tilda, and as he fears she resumes her bullying. Jett volunteers to be Gina’s assistant for the afternoon to get away from Tilda, but Gina misunderstands and thinks Jett has a crush on Tilda. John practices giving Jett a talk about ‘girls’. Tilda physically assaults Jett, but he can’t hit back because she’s a girl. She warns him not to tell Gina and taunts him about his dead mother. John witnesses Tilda punching Jett, and suddenly realises why Jett’s been acting so strangely.
Elsewhere, Roo is overjoyed to see Spencer back in the Bay. He couldn’t fix things with his father over Maddy, and he’s not able to see her. She’s being sent away to boarding school. Roo thinks if Spencer’s that serious about Maddy he needs to be with her or he’ll forever regret it. Harvey tries to convince Spencer to stay, and Alf agrees. Marilyn thinks it’s romantic that Spencer is off to be with Maddy.
Later in the week, Roo refuses to give Spencer’s father any information and Harvey asks him to leave. Roo and Harvey try to convince Spencer to reason with his dad. Harvey knows Roo wants these kids back in their life. He has an idea – they should offer Maddy and Spencer emotional and financial support as long as they go to school and study. Alf gives Maddy a gift – an old violin he’s had re-tuned. It looks like this situation is going to work out for everyone.
