DI McCabe is at the centre of the stolen goods subterfuge in Friday's Fair City on RTÉ One and the RTÉ Player.
The drama begins as Maxine tells Rafferty: "I took a lot of notes on this project - like I always do."
"That's evidence, Maxine," he replies.
Later, DI McCabe pays a visit to Maxine on the site.
"Do you think about me?" asks McCabe.
"Stop playing games," snaps Maxine.
As Maxine turns away to answer the phone, McCabe takes Maxine's notebook and hides it in her bag.
