Tell us three things about yourself?

I've been playing music since I was about five. I started on tin whistle then picked up drums, bass, guitar and basically anything I could get my hands on throughout the years.

I started writing tunes when I was 15 and began delving into production about a year ago when Covid lockdowns came in and have been releasing music since then.

I’m 17 now and will be sitting (or not sitting depending on Covid, fingers crossed) my Leaving Cert in June.

How would you describe your music?

I make chill vibey indie-pop music with elements of hip-hop, which sorta falls into this newfound genre of "bedroom pop" pioneered by the likes of Still Woozy, Clairo and Omar Apollo.

Who are your musical inspirations?

I really get my inspiration from other DIY type artists. Hearing the likes of Dominic Fike, Still Woozy and Brockhampton and then seeing the songs they’ve made with bedroom studio set-ups really inspired me. It made me believe that I could do the same with my songs from my bedroom.

How are you occupying yourself during the coronavirus lockdown?

The day lockdowns were announced back in March of last year was the day I finally bought my recording software and really started building my home studio. Being in 5th Year of school at the time, I saw it as an opportunity to throw myself into music production, which I'd always wanted to but always made the excuse that I didn't have the time. I also have loved competing in online beat battles because there’s nothing more exciting and terrifying than having to create a track start to finish in 45 minutes.

What’s your favourite song right now?

I’d I have to say Fomo by A.G Sully. I have that on repeat these days. It’s such a vibey track by an even more underrated artist.

Favourite lyric of all time?

So tough to pick just one but I’d have to go with "Do you make mistakes or do you make a change or do you draw the line for when it’s better days?" from Bleach by Brockhampton. I love these lyrics so much but basically, anything written by Dom McLennon is golden.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life what would it be?

The thought of only having one song to listen to for life gives me anxiety but if I had to choose one it’d be Gold by Brockhampton I could listen to that all day every day and not get bored. Listening to that track makes it feel like summer no matter what time of year it is.
