Covid-19 has caused a dating nightmare for singletons across the country. In a bid to save love this year RTÉ Player has sent six couples on socially distant first dates for a brand new show called Love Is In The Air.

The worldwide coronavirus pandemic has meant new romances can no longer blossom in the pub, instead, the great outdoors is the backdrop for first meetings - while keeping a safe distance from your potential new partner.

Siobhain and Eoin wrap up warm on their first date - will they be a match?

In a brand new show that lands on RTÉ Player this weekend locations such as the Phoenix Park, Dun Laoghaire Pier and Lough Key Forest and Activity Park in Roscommon are the settings for the first rendezvous of the six couples.

Despite the cold Aoife and John both opted for no socks - hope their hearts are warm for love!

The couples not only get over the nerves of first dates but also the hazards of unpredictable Irish weather - think welly boots rather than high heels!

Love is in the Air episodes will be available to stream on RTÉ Player from Sunday 13 December.
