Speaking about recording the song, Butler says: "I recorded the song in the Mill Studio' with Phil Magee. This is the second track we’ve done and he’s become a great friend and mentor to me.

"He’s been so important in shaping my sound and I can’t thank him enough. He’s also just the nicest man in music. Doesn’t matter who you are/what you’ve done, Phil treats everyone the same. A legend in the Irish music scene!"

Tell us three things about yourself?

I have three French bulldogs, Whinnie, Buba and peaches. My favourite food is steak, if you're ever buying me dinner, please buy me that.  I wrote my first song when I was 12 about a fictional girlfriend that I wished I had.

How would you describe your music?

I like to describe it as pop/rock with a hint of folk … If I’m allowed to use that many genres…

Who are your musical inspirations?

I’m a singer songwriter at heart but I Love big bands. The Killers, U2 The Script are all huge influences and inspirations for me. I just love the enormity of their shows. Been really inspired by Sam fender recently too, love how he’s managed to take the singer songwriter thing and fuse it with big band sounds. Love it.

How did you occupy yourself during the coronavirus lockdown?

You know, at first, I went into crazed productive mode. I was writing 5/6 songs a week and planning for my shows and upcoming releases. As it went on longer and longer, I decided to take a step back and reflect much more. I visited a lot of places around our beautiful country that I had never been before. There are so many amazing towns on this island, and I had taken it for granted for far too long. I’m sure plenty of songs will come from those new experiences!

What’s your favourite song right now?

It’s a mad one for me maybe haha but I can’t stop listening to WAP by Cardi B…

Favourite lyric of all time?

"It’s just like us to take the long way home" - The Coronas. I love this lyric it just reminds me of myself in so many ways. I’ve literally done this before - purposely gone the long way home just to spend that extra few minutes with a person. A simple but powerful lyric.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life what would it be?

When You Were Young - The Killers. It’s just such an anthem. I saw them in Chicago in 2017 at Lollapalooza and they just blew my mind.

Where can people find your music/more information?

I’m most active on Instagram and you can find all the songs on Spotify and YouTube!
