Coronation Street star Tina O'Brien has told fans to expect nail-biting Christmas Day scenes involving her character Sarah and family.

Sarah will be at the centre of the Weatherfield drama, with O'Brien teasing that her character fears for the lives of her children Bethany and Harry as the story unfolds.
"What they go through is terrible," O'Brien told ITV. "Derek has clearly lost the plot and it's very scary.

"I didn't really enjoy playing the feeling of that kind of fear because it makes you think about how would this be if it was for real and it wasn't very pleasant."
Viewers will also see Adam propose to Sarah amidst the chaos.
"Because the feelings and emotions are so heightened at the time anyway, and all she can think about is getting them all out alive, she doesn't really take it in properly," said O'Brien. "She just wants to make sure everyone is safe."
Coronation Street airs on Virgin Media One and ITV on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
