There will be tense scenes in Thursday's Fair City when Rose falls seriously ill after Ciarán has taken her captive.
Coming up in the soap, she reminisces with Ciarán, who she thinks is her deceased grandson Michael.
"Oh God, we loved dancing," she says. "We used to go out every Friday night. We hadn't a bob but we were happy. How long is he gone now?"
"Years," Ciarán responds.
"I suppose I won't be long after him," Rose suggests sadly. "I'll put on some music."
As Rose attempts to stand up, she falters and loses her balance.
When Ciarán asks her if she's ok, she admits: "I don't feel well. I need some tablets."
"You didn't have any left, remember?" Ciarán reminds her.
Becoming increasingly panicked, he says: "Rose, I don't know where to look. They're not in your bag. Have you anything here?"
Ciarán is shocked when he finds her medical emergency card, asking Rose: "You have diabetes?"
"Help me, please," an increasingly unwell Rose pleads.
