Love Island duo Maura Higgins and Curtis Pritchard are in Ireland to film a special segment for Aftersun, with Pritchard saying he was looking forward to meeting the model's family and friends.

However, after an interesting first meeting with Maura's mother, Sharon, when she awkwardly told her daughter that she "trusted her judgement", viewers will be keen to see how things unfold when they meet again.

The couple flew into London on Wednesday after nearly two months in the Love Island villa in Majorca.

They came fourth in the competition overall.

They have now flown to Dublin where they are filming for Sunday's episode of the series Aftersun.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Curtis said: "Still can't believe we are out of the villa!

"Loving this journey with @maurahiggins and being in Ireland to meet her family and friends!

"Who's excited for aftersun this Sunday?"
