Proving his everyman credentials once again, Ed Sheeran fell foul of that most human of needs at his show in Cardiff on Saturday night and had to excuse himself from the stage to visit the little boys' room - not once but twice.

After downing several bottles of water in the opening section of of his show, the million-selling megastar had to dash off stage after finishing performing Galway Girl in front of 60,000 people at Cardiff's Principality Stadium, telling the crowd that he "needed a pee" and would be right back.

On his return, he lasted three songs and midway through Photograph, said "I’m so sorry Cardiff" before flitting off to the loo once again.

Back on stage again, he said: "I’ve been gigging since I was 14 and I’ve never done that. And now I do it in front of 60,000 people."

Sheeran will play the last of four nights in a row at the Principality Stadium on Sunday night as part of his Divide world tour. He recently completed a tour of Ireland during which he played gigs in Dublin, Cork, Belfast and Galway.
