Vogue Williams has opened up about being body shamed online and says dealing with trolls and comments about her weight on a regular basis is "exhausting".

The 30-year-old model, who was recently announced as the new host of travel show Getaways, received abuse on social media on Wednesday after she was snapped in a black bikini on the beach in Ayia Napa.

Speaking to Ryan Tubridy on RTÉ Radio 1 today, Williams said she was told by online trolls that she needed to "lose two stone" and that she had cellulite.

"When I was filming on the beach in Ayia Napa I got papped and the pictures went up and I just saw so many vile comments about my weight and my body," she said. "I'm used to it anyway but this was to the point where it went a bit too far.

"People were telling me that I needed to lose two stone. They said that I was fat and have cellulite - which I do and I am proud of. I am a woman and we all have it," she added.

The Howth native says the nasty comments "really bothered" her and admits she was shocked by how pass remarkable people are.

"It just really bothered me. I just couldn't believe it. I know you shouldn't read the comments but sometimes you can't help yourself.

"I just don't understand how people think they have the right to abuse somebody's body like that. I'm certainly not overweight - I'm the perfect weight for my height. I just think it sends out a bad message to people." Williams added.

Williams, who regularly posts bikini shots on her social media pages, says she takes pride in her body and wants to promote a healthy lifestyle, but admits the constant trolling is "exhausting".

"The funny thing is that about a month ago when I was in Spain I was getting trolled for being too skinny and now I'm getting trolled for being too fat. I don't understand why anyone cares if I'm a size 6 or 26.

"I don't think anyone should be commenting on other people's bodies. Especially in this day and age where people have a lot of issues with body image and what they should look like. I want to promote a healthy lifestyle where I'm toned and I'm not too skinny. The trolling is exhausting really."

Williams reveals she feels better after opening up about receiving negative messages online and hopes it makes people "think twice" before they comment on people's bodies.

"I didn't expect for it to go everywhere it went. Hopefully it will make people think twice before they say anything. I think people just need to be more careful and mindful of that." she added.
