He may be pleading for cast members to stop leaking behind-the-scenes images of the new Star Wars movie but director JJ Abrams has mischievously hinted that a certain and tantalising rumour may indeed be true.

Earlier this week, LA website TMZ posted a gallery of images from the set of the new movie in Abu Dhabi, one of which appears to be a partially constructed version of Han Solo's trusted interstellar rust bucket, the Millennium Falcon.

Yesterday Abrams tweeted an image of a handwritten note, reading: “I wish people would stop leaking photos from Episode VII. And making ridiculous claims that the Millennium Falcon is in the movie.”

However, you wouldn't have to be Yoda to twig that the note is placed upon what looks very like a holographic chessboard, an instantly recognisable prop from Episode IV: A New Hope.

Checkmate to JJ.
