Enda Walsh’s Ballyturk, starring Cillian Murphy and Mikel Murfi, will premiere at this year’s Galway Arts Festival in July, before transferring to the National Theatre in London next Autumn.

Ballyturk will run at the Black Box Theatre, Galway from July 10-27.

The production opens at the National’s 900-seat Lyttelton Theatre on September 11, and runs until October 11, 2014.

The production reunites the creative team behind Enda Walsh’s internationally-acclaimed hit play Misterman, which starred Cillian Murphy in a sensational solo performance. That production also moved to the National Theatre in London in 2012.

Ballyturk marks Cillian Murphy’s return to the stage.  He will star alongside Walsh’s long-time collaborator Mikel Murfi, and the internationally acclaimed film and theatre actor Stephen Rea.

Cillian Murphy is currently in Manchester filming the BBC drama series, Peaky Blinders.

Funny and sad by turns, Ballyturk, directed by the author Enda Walsh, promises “jaw-dropping moments of physical comedy.”
