One Direction star Harry Styles has paid tribute to fans for sending Midnight Memories straight to number one.

The 19-year-old singer expressed his gratitude to Directioners for making the boy band's third studio album the fastest-selling so far this year.

Speaking at The Class of 92 premiere at the Odeon Cinema in London's Leicester Square last night, Harry said: ''I'm very excited, I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has bought the album and anyone who has even listened to it and liked it.''

Styles also told BANG Showbiz: ''We worked really hard on this one so it's exciting that it's been received so well.''

David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, Phil Neville and Nicky Butt also walked the red carpet along with several stars including Olympian Greg Rutherford and singer Tinchy Stryder.
