The producer and writer of the next James Bond adventure have said that some of the movie could be set and shot in Ireland.

The Irish Times reports that producer Barbara Broccoli and writer John Logan - who also wrote the most recent Bond adventure Skyfall - attended an Irish film industry event hosted by the Institute of Directors at the weekend.

Logan is in Dublin until next March for filming of his new gothic horror series Penny Dreadful, which he has created and written and which is executive produced by Sam Mendes, the director of Skyfall who will reunite with Logan for the next Bond movie.

Logan, whose parents are from Belfast and who described himself as "fully Irish", said he would "soak up the local colour" while here with a view to Ireland making its Bond debut.

Broccoli said that if Logan does include Ireland in the script, then 007 will be Ireland-bound.

"Ireland is gorgeous. I'd love to come here and make a Bond film," she added.
