There's great drama on RTÉ Two tonight, a compelling documentary on RTÉ One while Gordon Ramsey is trying to save an hotel from going out of business over on C4.

There's another chance to catch this crime thriller throughout this week. Set in Manchester & Dublin, Father & Son depicts the complexity of modern inner-city life where crime is now a global business, and where gun culture is an ever more entrenched part of everyday life.

The exciting drama starring Dougray Scott, Stephen Rea, Sophie Okonedo, John Kavanagh, Flora Montgomery centres on ex-criminal Michael O'Connor (Scott) who returns to Manchester from a quiet life in Ireland with pregnant girlfriend Anna (Montgomery)i n order to save his teenage son Sean from prison. 

The drama continues all week on RTÉ Two Monday to Thursday.

The Scholarship, 9:35pm, RTÉ One

With the summer coming to a close and the school term starting back with a bang, we take a look at what it's like to attend one of Ireland's most highly respected educational establishments. In the heart of Dublin's north inner city, Belvedere College is considered to be one of Ireland's top fee-paying private schools.

In the second offering from the two-part documentary, we follow five boys chasing their dream of securing a place at the prestigious college. The personal stories of The Scholarship - captured on screen over two years - tells a poignant story about Irish education and gives an insight into how one school endeavours to make a difference.

Ramsay's Hotel Hell, 10:40pm, Channel 4

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay checks into the River Rock Inn in Milford, Pennsylvania, where owner Ken Pisciotta is unable to get any guests to stay in his neglected establishment and is drowning in debt.

To get to grips with the problems, Ramsay will endure hotels at their worst, from filthy bedrooms and mold-ridden bathrooms to dreadful room service and incompetent staff, all so you don't have to. After he has uncovered the issues, Ramsay will put the hotel owners and employees to work as he attempts to turn around these failing establishments.
