The BBC has announced plans to release a second Beatles anthology volume.

The previously unreleased BBC radio recordings of the band from the mid-1960s will be out this autumn.

According to The Guardian, MCA Music in the Philippines, a division of Universal Music, will unveil On Air - Live at the BBC Volume 2 in November, just in time for the lucrative Christmas market.

The first volume was released back in 1994, and contained 56 songs and 13 dialogue tracks from the band's appearances on the BBC.

This latest collection arrives after a BBC Radio's Listener's Archive campaign in 2012, in which the public was asked to donate home-recorded radio and TV shows, as the BBC did not begin taping all of its output until the late 1970s.

The BBC will also release a book entitled The Beatles - The Archives: 1962-1970 in October, in collaboration with Beatles scholar Kevin Howlett.
