Rachel Allen’s back with some cost-conscious cooking, Scottish champions Celtic try to do a Saint Pat’s and beat Shakhtyor Karagandy in Europe, while BBC Two has a documentary about Martin Luther King and the March on Washington.

Rachel Allen’s Everyday Kitchen, RTÉ One, 8.30pm

Designed to help viewers get the most out of their lives, budget and ingredients, each recipe in Rachel Allen’s new show will demonstrate how to make money and food go further. First up, Allen’s at her favourite local market for inspiration and ingredients. Back in the kitchen, she cooks up an array of dishes using Dublin Bay Prawns and Irish potatoes among others - and shares some ‘tricks of the trade’ from her cookery school kitchen.

Champions League Live Celtic v Shakhtyor Karagandy 7.30pm RTÉ Two

Darragh Maloney presents as Scottish champions Celtic host the Kazakhstani club that was beaten in last year’s Europa League by our own Saint Patrick’s Athletic. Given Celtic’s experience at this level, you’d fancy them to overhaul the 2-0 deficit from the first leg. Stranger things have happened though, and Karagandy know they are on the threshold of becoming the first club from their country to make the group stages of the Champions League. The first goal tonight will be crucial.

Martin Luther King and the March on Washington, 9.00pm, BBC Two

This documentary commemorates the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington and tells the story of the how the march for jobs and freedom began, speaking to the people who organised and participated in it. Using rarely-seen footage it reveals the background stories surrounding the march as well as the fierce opposition it faced in the USA from the JFK administration, J Edgar Hoover's FBI and widespread claims that it would incite racial violence, chaos and disturbance.
